Dear ASPIRE 1 User,
A final reminder that there will be a scheduled system maintenance from 14 Dec 2018, 3pm to 17 Dec 2018, 12pm.
As you may have been aware, we had an emergency shutdown in September because of the burst chilled water pipe in Fusionopolis which affected the whole building. We have since discovered number of hardware issues which may affect the system’s operability.
In the interest of safety we have decided to conduct a thorough inspection of the hardware during the downtime period. Consequently we will only be able to bring up ASPIRE 1’s computing resources progressively in tandem with the inspection on 17 Dec 2018. The system will only be fully available upon completion of the inspection. We expect to complete the inspection before 29 Dec 2018.
Nevertheless, we will work to complete the inspection swiftly to bring up the full ASPIRE 1’s computing resources as soon as possible. We seek your kind understanding and patience.

Dear ASPIRE 1 Users,
Please be informed that there will be an annual scheduled ASPIRE 1 system maintenance on 14 December 2018 (Friday) from 3pm. When the system maintenance is completed, we expect to bring ASPIRE 1 services back online on 17 December 2018 (Monday) at 12 noon.
Please take note of the important timelines below that will impact your work:
โข 9 December 2018 (Sunday), 3pm: All long queues will stop dispatching jobs. This is to ensure jobs do not get terminated during the shutdown period. Jobs which can complete before the shutdown may still be dispatched manually, subject to the availability of resources.
โข 13 December 2018 (Thursday), 3pm: Normal queues will stop dispatching jobs. Jobs which can complete before the shutdown may still be dispatched manually, subject to the availability of resources.
โข 14 December 2018 (Friday), 3pm: All users will be logged out of the system. All remaining running jobs will be allowed to terminate gracefully before the system shuts down.
โข 17 December 2018 (Monday), 12pm: the system will be brought online and released to users.
