Please be informed that inode usage on the scratch disk (i.e. /scratch) is close to its maximum capacity. Once it reaches 100%, users will not be able to do any useful work on the system. Therefore, NSCC will be implementing an inode quota on /scratch from 1 October 2020.
Each user will be entitled to a quota of 200 million inodes. You will not be able to add or modify files once the inode quota is reached. Note: This inode quota is over and above the current space quota of 100TB per user. Therefore all users will be subjected to both space and inode quota limits from 1 October 2020.
You may use the “myquota” command to see your inode usage. You can reduce your inode usage by removing unwanted files and directories from your account, or by merging numerous small files into a single tar or gzip file.
Please be reminded to do regular housekeep of your unwanted files and directories on the scratch disk.

Thank you for your cooperation.
